Operations Manual How To Guide

Operations Manual Section Two: Welcome Letter

The Welcome Letter

Creating a welcome letter is not as easy as it sounds! The purpose is to welcome the new employee or franchisee and to let them know they're a valued addition to the family. Keep it short, but also warm and upbeat. If possible, end the letter with a forward thought and a wish for success. The following will serve as a guide to inspire a unique letter written by you.

WELCOME

Congratulations and welcome to the family!

In this next section, complement the employee or franchisee by letting them know the positive qualities you look for in business associates (drive, work ethic, honesty, desire to help others, etc.) Let them know they are valued and an important part of the team. Indiciate you trust they will continue on with the high standards and traditions of the company.

Touch on the goal of the company and how you now share a common goal. Let them know you are available to answer any questions and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.

End with a sign off and signature.

Customizing the Document for Specific Manuals

If this letter is for a franchise operations manual, welcome them to the franchise family, mention the franchise system and that they are now a member of the franchise network family. Build momentum and motivation regarding their decision (and it was a big one) to buy a franchise license from you. This could be a scary time for them, so this section can really motiviate them.
